From The Land,
Through My Hands
"Each brushstroke, texture, and detail is rooted in the landscapes that surround me—capturing the raw beauty and rhythms of rural Australia. My work doesn’t just depict the land; it tells its story. Through layered textures, bold strokes, I translate the character and essence of the Australian countryside into art that resonates deeply with its viewers."

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elyssa Storey is a visual artist and photographer based in Temora, NSW. Her work celebrates the textures, colours, and abstract details of the Australian rural landscape through textured acrylic impasto paintings and evocative photography.
STORIES IN TEXTURE

With a focus on textured impasto painting techniques, Elyssa incorporates natural elements like sand and works primarily with palette knives to bring depth and dimension to her pieces. Her paintings reflect the agricultural heritage and dynamic energy of the land while celebrating its vibrant hues and seasonal activities.
THE HEART OF HER WORK

Elyssa's artistic approach is shaped by family ties and a lifelong connection to rural Australia. Beyond her studio work, she facilitates engaging workshops that celebrate creativity and individuality, offering others the opportunity to explore their own artistic journeys.
"My inspiration comes from the Australian rural landscape, with its bold textures, vibrant hues, and seasonal rhythms. Using acrylic impasto techniques, I aim to bring the beauty of the countryside to life. Each piece reflects the stories and connections I find in the land that has shaped me. Painting allows me to express these emotions in a way that photography alone cannot."
